Featured Plate

The governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is issued official license plate #1. Prior to the 1980’s, state official plates used to start with an S, for example S-541 and the governor was issued with plate “S-1”. I believe the plate “S-1” is simply treated as a reserved number today. See more official plates.

New Specialty License Plate that Supports First Responders Hit the Road this Fall.

This is the latest specialty license plate to be offered by the RMV. This plate featuring a Trooper's hat is available to all registrants for a $40 fee. Funds from the sale of these plates will go to support state and local police, firefighters, MBTA Transit Police, EMTs and their families in times of need.

New 5X Patriots plate available as of September 7th, 2017.

This newly redisigned version of the Patriots plate is now available accross the state. The new design was created to celebrate the five-time Super Bowl champions the Patriots have won. The older versions of this plate remain of course valid as long as they are renewed.
